Dr. Scott Newton
Physical Therapist
I am a Physical Therapist at the Covington location. I grew up in Bunkie, LA, and graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for my undergraduate studies. I then moved to St. Augustine, Florida, to pursue my doctorate in Physical Therapy.
My family and I lived in Wisconsin for three years before settling in Abita Springs. I am married and have three young boys.
Experience:
I have been a clinician for 15 years and I’ve worked in acute care/hospital, skilled nursing, home health and outpatient orthopedic clinics. I am dry needling certified and also have my certification in FCE and Workstep evaluations.
Conditions Dr. Scott Enjoys Treating
As a clinician, I treat a variety of diagnoses and help ensure quality care for our patients alongside our Physical Therapy Assistants and technicians. As the clinic manager, I also strive to create a positive clinic environment so our patients receive the care they deserve while maintaining a fun and supportive workplace for our staff.
One thing I am passionate about addressing is limited function and mobility deficits that can lead to a decreased quality of life.
Conditions I especially enjoy treating include postoperative shoulder and knee conditions, as well as mobility and balance deficits.
Why Dr. Scott Loves Working at Dynamic PT
What I like about working at Dynamic Physical Therapy is that you are truly treated like family, and management ensures that all staff maintain a healthy work-life balance. The owners, Steve and Michelle, treat patients in the clinic with us every day and are always open to any questions or concerns that staff may have, without judgment.

Outside the Clinic
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking and yardwork. Quality family time is always enjoyable whether we are on the soccer fields, playing cards or board games, cooking and helping my dad with work around his property.
“Dynamic Physical Therapy of Covington is fantastic. They got me back to better than normal after my surgery. Physical therapists Scott and Britnie are fantastic as well as all the techs. I would recommend them to everyone I know including my family.”
